Pharma and Digital Therapies

We apply as a factory for the construction of immersive applications in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), or mixed reality (MR), designed and developed to be tested and validated as Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), Digital Therapeutics, or Digital Support integrated into patient support programs by specific entities such as research institutes, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, or specialized firms.

Digital Therapeutics (DTx) are evidence-based therapeutic interventions validated by a Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial (RCT) in which the active ingredient is not a molecule, but rather software or an algorithm. The treatment of a psychological disorder through traditional medical and pharmacological therapies can thus be integrated with specific software and protocols accessible from various digital devices (smartphones, tablets, wearables, and virtual and augmented reality headsets, etc.).

Digital Support (DS) requires a Decentralized Clinical Trial (DCT) and can be integrated into specific Patient Support Programs (PSP), also in order to promote patient adherence to the therapeutic plan and their active involvement (patient engagement) in the care process.

Field of Research and Neurosciences

In recent years, a growing number of researchers in the field of psychology and cognitive sciences have begun to explore the potential of Virtual Reality as a new experimental paradigm for the study of mental processes.

Virtual Reality offers researchers a new perspective to tackle the issues of experimental control and ecological validity (Gaggioli, 2002; Parson et al., 2017).

Regarding control, it is ensured by the fact that virtual environments are flexible and programmable, and as such, they allow for the presentation of a variety of stimuli in different sensory modalities, as well as measuring and simultaneously recording the behavioral and physiological responses of the participant.

Secondly, both the virtual environment and the way it is modified by the participant's responses can be tailored to the specific needs of the experimental setting.

On the other hand, by using Virtual Reality, it is possible to reproduce virtual environments that recreate the conditions of everyday experience. Therefore, the results of observations made in the virtual environment are more easily generalizable to real life, adhering to the criterion of ecological validity.

Our Augmented Sonorization solutions leverage musical, psychological, and neurophysiological expertise, using specific paradigms and compositional algorithms that allow for the modeling of the timbral, harmonic, and spatial components of sound.
